Beaver Tile Mill
Located In Marion Township, it was the center of the valley's brick manufacturing industry in the
early 1900's.
Beaver Flour And Grist Mill
Built circa 1865, this four story facility was one of Beaver's most flourishing businesses in 1900.  It
was made popular by it's Silver Leaf and Buckwheat flour.
Beavertown Depot
Built in 1899 at the intersection of the Ohio Southern Railroad (Later DT&I) in Marion Township,
this station served the village until July 12, 1914 when a derailment destroyed the structure.
Beaver Methodist Episcopal Church
Built in 1910 on the site of the original church, it was located just south of the United Brethren
Church pictured in the distance.
Beaver United Brethren Church
Built in 1892 on present-day Church Street, this small wooden structure served its congregation
until it was moved to its present site in 1913.
Omer Davis Furniture And Undertaking
Omer Davis started into the furniture and undertaking business in Beaver in 1904.  He was the first
licensed undertaker in the village.
The People's Academy
Built in 1890, this building graduated the first high school students from the village.  It was
destroyed by fire on March 9, 1932.
Beaver High School
Completed in 1924, this building served as the local high school until 1964.
Besch Black Smith Shop
George Besch and Son Blacksmithing was located on present day Ohio Avenue in Beaver.  
Adams Dry Goods
This establishment opened its doors as H. Adams & Company in 1885.  It closed its doors 110
years later in 1995.
Ben Thompson Confectionary
In the early 1900's Ben and Bertha Thompson operated this confectionary on Main Street in Beaver.
Beaver Post Office
Beaver's first post office was opened in 1840.  Joseph Scheutle was the postmaster in this circa 1930
photograph.
Bobst Hardware
E. D. "Breese" Bobst got his start in the hardware business about 1920 at the location on Main Street.
P. K. Keppler Building Supplies
Philip King Keppler went into the cement block and building supply business in 1910.  He built his store
near the DT&I Station.
Beaver Livery Stable
Located at the busiest intersection on Main Street, the old livery stable was a thriving business in the
early 1900's.
The Hotel Beaver
This hotel was built about 1870 on Main Street.  It was a restaurant and bording house in 1984 when it
was destroyed by fire.

Beaver was the site of
it's own agricultural fair.
 Operated by the
Beaver Driving Society,
its facilities were later
moved to the present
county fair grounds in
Piketon.
