Two Victory Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Medal.  Participated in battles
in the North African Invasion at Casablanca, the invasion of Sicily, the
invasion of Italy at Salerno, and in battles in the Pacific.  The USS Rhind
served as an escort for many convoys from U. S. ports to Europe.  It
engaged many German U-Boats and bombing raids from the German
Luftwaffe.
