Notes: At the age of 18 he enlisted into service in the Civil War.  He served
four years and participated in the battles of Shiloh, the Seige of Vicksburg,
and Shermans March to the Sea.  He was wounded in the foot at the battle
of Kennesaw Mountain.  Corporal in Company F of the 53rd Ohio
Volunteer Infantry.    At the age of 18 he enlisted into service in the Civil
War.  He served four years and participated in the battles of Shiloh, the
Seige of Vicksburg, and Shermans March to the Sea.  He was wounded in
the foot at the battle of Kennesaw Mountain.   He held many other local
offices.  Appointed Corporel 11/14/1864.
