Received the South Pacific Theatre Ribbon. In World War Two participated in the invasion of the Admiralty Islands and the Battle of Leyte. Participated in no battles in the Korean War. He enlisted in the army again in October 1950 at Fort Breckenridge KY. He was discharged in April 1952 at Camp Carson CO. In 1942 he was promoted to Tech. Sgt. Left the United States as part of a special task force of the 37th Division headed for the Pacific, destination Tonga Tabu. Then went to Officers Candidate School in Brisbane, Australia in 1944. Came out of the war as a 2nd Lieutenant and later made a 1st Lieutenant which was his final rank.
